MANUFACTURABILITY ENGINEER-2025724DYK164-WEST MIFFLIN, PA

JOB SUMMARY:
Our company is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Manufacturability team as part of the Propulsion Plant Team Trainer (PPTT) project, which is a multi-site organization engaged in the design, production, testing, and delivery of advanced training simulators.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will:
-Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineers across multiple locations
- Review and disposition Supplier mechanical design submittals to validate designs based on technical requirements
-Interface with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are satisfied - Understand ASME Y14.5Geometric Tolerancing principles

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION:

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university

EXPERIENCE:
-Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a Mechanical Engineer


DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software
- Experience with Model Based Design - Experience with Design for Manufacturability
- Experience implementing Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) into designs
- Ability to review, understand, and apply relevant engineering codes and standards (e.g. ASME, AWS)
- Experience supporting design reviews and technical interchanges with Suppliers
- Experience with machining and all forms of welding processes across design and production
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
-Ability to think creatively and make recommendations to senior project personnel
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products
